It is a startling prediction that highlights the grim reality of our surroundings. According to one of the world's leading ice experts, the final collapse of the Arctic sea ice will take place in summer months within four years time.

> humankind "must urgently examine other ways of slowing global warming, such as the various geoengineering ideas that have been put forward.
Exactly as much as a junkie must look for another poison-source. Never must we think of getting the monkey off our back; 'cause that might endanger the profits of BP exxon Shell GE TEPCO ...
The arctic ice is going fracking fast.

(according to of 2007-09-15,)
from 1998-2007, area of arctic ice diminished by about 100,000 km**2 per year
in 2007 (warmest year then on record) it diminished by 1,000,000 km**2,
with an area of 3,000,000 km remaining.

In 2009 --for the first time in human history-- ships traversed the fabled Northeast Passage - (if i recall correctly:) two tankers with an ice-breaker as backup. And the ice-breaker was not needed.

2022: GOOD NEWS! The wine harvest in Greenland increased by a whopping 122,7 % compared to the preceeding year.

Im just confused why people don't realize just how important our Artic is to oue eco-system ? As the Artic shrinks so does our wild and marine life. We must ALL take action now to prevent any further damage.

The Clock Is Ticking and we already passed the point of no return. Our Sun is a dying Star which means that it is growing hotter before it finally burns itself out. We have learned that we are enclosed in a bubble and that everything we have ever burned, exploded or tested has never floated away into outer space. We are destroying the very thing that cleans some of the pollution out of the air and gives us back oxygen. Oil and Gas companies don't care what they are doing to the environment as long as they are making a profit. Live for Today and let someone else worry about tomorrow. Tomorrow is Here! The Count Down has already begun!

So everybody take their tiny little steps: use less gas, oil, energy to drive, heat their house and water. Use LESS of everything. Reuse everything and still with BIG business burning through our resources will cook us! Sadly.

The adjacent item says "Ozone hole is smaller than last year..." Well, ozone hole, schmozone hole.... rapidly melting ice all over the planet, accompanied by ever-increasing record high temps is still a fact. We're in deep trouble.
