As the storm rolled in, Spencer Service saw a mother cat and a litter of newborns in an alley. He knew he had to do something

It's nice to know there are good people about. The white cat in the photo has similar markings to my cat Snowy, who I rescued from almost getting beat-up by a big tom in my back garden, which she used to frequent, some years ago. That rescue wasn't difficult though, I just opened the back door and called out to her and because she already trusted me she shot through the door like her life depended on it, and has been with me ever since. Right now she's looking at me from one of her favourite resting places wondering what on earth I'm doing.

Rescuing the cat family was the humane, responsible thing to do regardless of weather conditions. Fortunately for the cats, Spencer cared.

What a hero. I was hoping he would keep the mother and all her kittens. I hate to see a family broken up. People that break up animal family's have no soul in my opinion. I take care of feral family's (all have since been TNR) and they are truly a family unit. Why don't we think animals have feelings and know pain and joy. Why do we think it's OK to split up a animal family?
