Signed. I took in my neighbors cat when they moved and they just left it in the neighborhood to fend for itself. How do people do such cruel things? Fight animal cruelty in any form you can, turn people in if you see them committing cruel acts on animals.

In a community, animal cruelty is a serious public safety issue. Regardless who commits the act, unchecked animal cruelty escalates to cruelty against other helpless creatures like children, the disabled, the elderly, the homeless and gets worse from there. Perhaps if animal cruelty laws were harsh and severe, there might be fewer violent crimes against humans by way of interceding, rehabilitating, incarcerating those who would harm animals before it escalates.
