We gave our Chewie smoked mackerel pate and cheese, and let him sleep by the fire. Then it was time for our goodbyes.

Thanks for sharing, I do believe we've all been there a time or two, it's so hard to lose them but so worth the unconditional love we receive in return.

RIP Chewie. Your Mommy wrote a beautiful story about you. If you see my babies who crossed Rainbow Bridge please tell them their mommy loves them & can't wait to join them.

Thank you for that heart warming story. I expect Chewie's got other important work to do in Heaven, where he'll be quite busy I'm sure.

Nice story. He looks nearly like our tomcat, he was 20 years old when he died at home because of his age. We'll never forget him !!

Chewie has cross over the rainbow bridge an is in the arms of Mother Nature I do know once you take in a cat or kitten even in passing they are still with us checking to see that we are safe an happy from time to time I see my sweet Mama kitty from the corner of my eye which I had for 23 years I say this because I live 15 miles from town an two weeks after Mama Kitty said goodbye I found a little black kitten sleeping on top of my worm bin which was Mama Kitty's sunning spot I think my Mama Kitty send this kitten to me to make me happy an to this day Buddy still sleeps on top of the worm bin. =^..^=

Have you taken in a stray kitty today

I have to shed a tear reading this story. It's so good to know that Chewie had humans that really loved and cared for him. I had to put my best friend down 2 years ago. I had him for 18 years and he was already an adult when I got him. His health was failing fast but one Sunday morning, I knew this was it. I laid with him for a couple of hours telling him how much I loved him and how much he meant to me, then I took him to the emergency vet and they put him to sleep. It was so hard to lost my best friend. I have to sob as I write this. I miss him so much as I'm sure you do Chewy. The picture by my name is my Cheyanne that I had to put down. This is my tribute for all he has done for me and will be in my heart forever. Thanks for being such good parents to your furry friends. So sad Ollie was never found. I couldn't bury my Cheyanne as I move around, so I had him cremated so he could always be with me.
