I am actually torn by such petitions where cats are concerned. I want to insure their survival as much as anyone, and I live in a place where they occasionally stroll through my yard. Dollars given to "management programs serve to manage such creatures to the point of extinction rather than insure the viability of the species. That makes room for more urban sprawl, and the need for more "management".
Cats, (wild ones), are elusive, nocturnal and quite able to make there own way. A budget cut may have the opposite effect you are expecting.
Loving without owning is a big life lesson.
Macho B was managed out of existence. My faith in wildlife management practices is gone. My faith in wildlife's ability to adapt is unshaken.
Loss of habitat is the problem. Management is not a solution. Manage loss of habitat. Not wildlife.

I agree with John....manage the companies, ranchers, etc that are causing the loss of habitat.
Thanks Cher

There's plenty of money to go around if it's taken from causes suh as nuclear. Further, if we'd mind our own business instead of interfering when unnecessary, it sure would save us a lot of money. We could even afford to take care of our own people: the hungry and the homeless. Cut the spending budget of the "servants of the people" HAH! Hey, I'd love to see the president and his accomplices take a regular people plane. Sure would save a lot of money. LOL

Hey maybe if congress would stop giving themselves pay raises and do away with the czars positions (what do we need them for?) all the unnecessary spending by our government reroute to the people and our causes like for the animals for our hungry for our country. Let's think for our selves by ourselves to better ourselves take care of our own and those such as animals who depend on us for their welfare and habitat. We cannot keep going at this rate we need crimes made to be examples like animal abuse severe enough to send a wake up call deterrent a must to bring the wrongness to a stop. If we don't help save the aniamals we most definitely can't save ourselves of that we created
