Thank you for speaking out for the Rio Grande. - signed and shared - This is obviously very important to Texans as well.

This is a critical year for the river as the drought continues and key federal water decisions will determine whether the river continues to flow. WildEarth Guardians will show up and be a voice for the river, in Congress, in the Courts and with the public. Take your support a step further and donate to our Free Flowing Rio Grande campaign. --- (donation made)

The biggest solution is for people to stop eating innocent animals. More water goes into the raising of crops as feed and to quench the thirst of cattle, dairy cows, sheep, pigs, chickens, hens, etc than into raising crops to feed humans. The aquifers are also running dry. The GMOs are ruining bees, pollinators, elements. The waste and excrement that goes into rivers and oceans is massive. We have been told by many spiritually experienced people throughout history never to harm or kill or eat sentient beings. The consequences of choosing to eat based on killing sentient beings to life, to spirit, to Earth Mother are enormous and all are negative.

Nearly half of all water used in the U.S. goes to raising animals for human food.
It takes more than 2,400 gallons of water to produce 1 pound of meat.
A vegan diet requires 300 gallons of water per day vs. meat-eating diet which requires 4,000 gallons per day.

(Tish Hinojosa.) As important culturally as ecologically, along with the Colorado, the Rio IS the American Southwest.
