it still amazes me that the boy scouts are anti-gay. i hope all sponsors make a stand against the organization. a friend and i are on opposite sides of this issue. she says the boy scouts do a lot of good for the community, which i agree with, and that the good they do is most important. i, however, believe that we need to take a stand that it is unacceptable to discriminate.

This is a tough issue for me. My friend and neighbor has led Boy Scouts for decades and he's a wonderful man who finds all sorts of fun/educational thing for the boys to do. When I ask him about the "atheist/gay" issues...he rolls his eyes and says "THAT'S JUST BULLSH&T!" Then, he quietly goes on his way to help boys become good men.

Personally, I oppose the new proposal that the Boy Scouts of America should revoke the longstanding policy on homosexuality. An organization that teaches character, courage, and conviction shouldn't be exploited as a laboratory for sexualized political correctness. For decades, the BSA has kept the interest of the boys it serves as the focus of all its actions. No matter what, the Boy Scouts of America could be counted upon to do the right thing and not yield to any social or corporate pressure, and has thus far stood strong.

Parents should be able to entrust their sons to the organization with the confidence that they will not be exposed to inappropriate sexual topics such as homosexuality. The BSA should retain the current long-held and time-tested policy regarding homosexual leadership and membership.

Jesus does not want this to happen to our nation! Why do you call this "hatred" and "homophobia" when it is really standing strong in faith? It's like kids at school. If you don't do wrong stuff at all the time they call you a "teacher's pet" or a "goody two-shoes". It's the same principle, except on a larger scale. This is horrible, happening to OUR boys in OUR country!
