Attention: Ms. Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy, Delphine Batho.
Madam Minister, 20 years ago, the wolf was its natural return to France. Nowadays, our associations are concerned to note that serious its conservation in our country is increasing. Its protected status by the European "Habitats-Faune-Flore" and the commitments made to the Berne Convention seem threatened. On October 10, a bill was filed in the office of the National Assembly, including by Mr. Charles Ginésy, Gaymard and Jean Lassalle, "aimed at allowing farmers to shoot any wolf threatening their livestock, this authorization is also applicable in the hearts of national parks." On October 16, the content of some of the proposals in the meeting of National Wolf foreshadowed negative direction in the government's desire to ensure the conservation of the wolf, despite its international commitments. Always October 16, another bill was tabled in the Senate, including Mrs. Chevènement and Robert Hue, aiming "to authorize the killing of wolves in exclusion zones to be created, regardless of the sample nationally defined" last October 19, the Board of Directors of the National Park of Cevennes said the wolf incompatible with biodiversity, which is a non-ecological sense. He asked that the Park is recognized as "exclusion zone for the wolf" and wants to organize slaughter area "heart" of the park. far the ambitions of a modern state on the eve of the 22nd century, these guidelines we bring back a century. They also go against the Environmental Conference who wished to make France a state model in terms of biodiversity. You are guarantor of respect for biodiversity in our country, which is why we urge the State to act so that these harmful proposals and opposed to the national strategy desired by the President of the Republic may not be adopted. In the meantime, please accept, Madam Minister, to express our deep respect. Another country jumping on the 'Let's demonise and slaughter all wolves' bandwagon. Their brains are lodged in the end of a gun barrel - how is it possible that these people have so much power in a time when everyone is aware of endangered species?
