There are dozens of web-sites that allow for inexpensive but meaningful gifts to those most in need in the name of that person who you might normally buy some inconsequential gift. Don't buy me another meaningless gift, send money in my name to any one of many important causes or charities. I was walking in my own neighbor last night - gee one almost needs sun glasses at night. Couldn't we all use Christmas decorations that charge from sunlight during the day and glitter at night? Please reconsider the savage destruction of trees for a few days of personal entertainment.
If you are an animal advocate then let your family and friends know that you would be happy with a donation to a rescue group, an environmental group or a group like Doctors without Borders. There is a much deeper feeling of joy than just one more trinket that most do not need.
Is the Christmas/ Holiday season about the love of our fellow humans or the love of money?

I love sending and receiving ecards but I only send ecards to those people who check their emails. I have a friend who doesn't have access to the internet at home and so she goes to the library when she has spare time and checks her email there. Sometimes she does not pick up her ecards and they have already expired. So I send both ecards and snail mail greeting cards.
