noted. What would it feel like to enter the world and immediately be abused.
Man deserves community service as well,as never being allowed near pets.
Kind of like an convicted pervert has to tell his neighbors about himself,so should this "person"

Noted with anger. He should not be able to appeal after 5 years, otherwise why call it a lifetime ban?!

This is horrible and the punishment is not too much, it is too little! Where is rehabilitation (for the safety of not only other Beings, he would secretly get his hands on, but our species)???

Why did Mr. Michael 'Serial Dog Torturer & Killer' Vick receive no banishment for life and he did???? Is this punishment only reserved for people who are not powerful, famous and valuable to the rich???? I am leaning towards YES, that is the reason; the facts are easily research-able that there two-sets of justice in The USA.

Good outcome -the ones who committ these atrocities should never be allowed to own an animal again -a register should be kept on all animal abusers.

I like to get him in a room with a broom handle. He'd need surgery to remove it.

A persons true colours come out while intoxicated, this man beat his dog this time. What or whom will he beat up next time he gets drunk? Aside from being banned from owning an animal, this arse wipe needs some anger management and or major therapy.

Should have mandatory therapy included in his sentence!

At least the UK has banned him from having animals. I have rarely seen that here in the US. But, what is that nonsense abut appealing after 5 years? Obviously, he has anger management issues but no mention made in the article of dealing with that.

This is not justice "The defendant was sentenced to a 12 month community order with supervision, 150 hours of unpaid work, ordered to pay 1100 towards vets fees and 400 for legal fees. He was also given a lifetime ban on keeping dogs, with no appeal for five years". This sick SOB would have got 10 to 15 in prison "IF THIS WAS DONE TO A HUMAN" It is time to put an end to the two tear justice system if you abuse an animal you get the same jail time as if you abuse a "HUMAN" =^..^=

Have you taken in a stray kitty today

I have a solution for this. Execute them- psychopaths abuse animals today and kill people tomorrow! We need REAL tough animal abuse laws and enforce them- cause 4 times out of 5 the next time you hear about an animal abuser they killed /maimed/ raped a person. Ask your lawmakers for tougher penalties for animal abuse.

this is stricter than what most abusers get in the US. What the heck is wrong with a lifetime ban on them having animals? Animals are NOT necessary like water, air, food, etc for these "humans" to live.. they can certainly live the rest of their lives animal-less.
Depriving them of animals is NOT inhumane. Letting them ever have another animal is inhumane for any unfortunate ANIMAL once the time is up!

It is this guy's fault that the dog went to the bathroom in the house and her beats her.She had probably been left inside too long and couldn't wait anymore.See how long he could hold it when he had a go.

If he can appeal after 5 years then its not a lifetime ban! They just call it a lifetime ban to appease animal lovers but after 5 years he will appeal ad sadly most likely win!

Noted. While it's great that he was given a lifetime ban on having animals as well as his community service and fines there should also have been some jail time and probably some anger management therapy. However, I don't think he should be able to appeal after 5 years. What he did was terribly cruel and inhumane. Wish the US would give people a lifetime banon owning animals again if they're convicted of cruelty to animals. Thanks so much, Cher.

All these people who want this person punished by throwing this criminal in jail, I am sorry i could not disagree more. I am against sending anyone to jails, they just do nothing to rehabilitate criminals, cost a lot of money, Capitalist are now making 100s of Millions of off them and make the criminals worse than they went in.

Jaime Alexande Alves,

I wish my new account was NOT so new that I have NOT enough butterfly points to give your >>>>>Should have mandatory therapy included in his sentence plus some jail time.!!>something wrong with someone who would hurt "man's best friend".

If people would stop breeding their animals and make us a nation of no more homeless pets, then people like this would not be able to have a pet. We have to start making breeders take responsibility for the animals they produce and have to take them back no matter how old or sick the animal is.

Dianne D.,

My loved grandmother was one of the two (her and her husband/grandfather) who breed pure breed German Sheppards; yet, in my Beings Rights development years ago, I decided what they did was horrible and wrong. Being a breeder of ANY BEING MUST BECOME ILLEGAL, TONS OF REHABILITATION AND VOLUNTEERISM IF CAUGHT (I WILL NEVER AGAIN BELIEFE IN JAILING FOR ANY REASON) AND ENFORCED!

it is still far too lenient. this is why I believe in capital punishment. odds are he will reoffend unless he runs afoul of an animal lover who heard of his missdeeds
