Thanks Cher. Audubon says that if people in our area didn't feed the birds to get them through the winter, half of them would die. We have planted for wildlife as much as possible and supplement with seeds, nuts, suet, and fruit when there is nothing available for wildlife. We have done this for all 20 years we have been here and we have quite a "following".

Noted. I do several of those things listed as you know I am a bird lover, but I also have a bowl out for the squirrels. Great advice. Thanks for the post Cher

We place food (different types, at different heights) in winter--along with water. We live in a city, and you would not believe the different species who come.

Years ago, I planted China holly bushes in the front of my house. These red berries are a great delight to birds in the winter.

7 feeding stations , cracked corn dish, suet feeders and a heated birdbath help the birds and squirrels get through the winter here ! :D Big brush pile and wood pile are appreciated too ! Just LOVE seeing all the creatures utilize our offerings ! :D

These tips work. I have a lot of hungry birds around the feeders every day, especially when it's very cold.

I provide bird seed for the birds and I feed ferals. I would take care of all the animals on this earth if I could.
