Sorry...I learned that the hard way! Many companies won't insure you!

Although I'd NEVER advise doing anything illegal (ahem) if you can pass the dog off as a lab or pointer....things might go more smoothly.

I'm just saying. (ahem)

It would be great if all people would not discriminate and treat pit bulls just like all other dogs.
Treat all animals with care and compassion

Just show the dog you love and care for him, and the rest will be already done! Thanks for this post

Pam, some companies won't insure you if you own a specific breed, others will but require a liability waiver for certain breeds, others don't care about breed but only about bite history. I agree there are big differences here and, unless you already have an insurer that only cares about bite history, you should shop. I'm not naming names, not only for ethical reasons, but also because rules change, so you need to be up on what the situation is right now.

As someone who has had two large dogs that are considered a potentially "aggressive breed", though not pit bulls, I tried to train my dogs to be very considerate of other people, particularly in confined areas. They always sat in the corner of the elevator, never jumped on people and waited patiently at the corner for the light to change. They were the sweetest animals but if they had acted differently, I'm not sure they would have been embraced by others so quickly. The best thing you can do for your dog (and yourself) is to make sure your dog is a well behaved around others. It's just not fun spending time with a badly trained dog.

I hope you two are very happy together.

This is a easy one to do love an care for your dog the way you would like someone to love an care for you he is your companion "NOT A PET" you are "NOT HIS OWNER" you are his companion so stand by him an he will stand by you that's all you have to do. =^..^=

Have you taken in a stray kitty today

Pit Bulls are not monsters, they are just dogs that want to be loved and cared for!
