I recently learned this about white tigers.

I also found out how easy it is to buy tigers and lions, online. Julie Scardina, SeaWorld/Busch Gardens Animal Ambassador was on Late night with Jay Leno and she had a lion cub that was bought online. Somehow she got a hold of it. I decided to find out how easy it would be to purchase a lion or tiger online. I did a search and the first search showed several for sale in the USA. $450.00. I was heartbroken...

Signed and shared - In some states it is legal to buy and keep any form of wildlife - that should be changed. No one has the need to have a wild animal in their home. This is why we must donate to sanctuaries for wild life, because stupid people have stupid desires to cage and "tame" animals that need to live free.

This is not what Mother Nature intended -- this is a human, or artificial, creation. Still, I have met people convinced that the "white tiger" is a special subspecies! With their appearance (the white color is way too striking) and ailments, these hybrids would not survive in the wild (unlike humans, nature is wise). Tigers are endangered, despite of which they are bred in captivity and even turned into these freaks (pardon the expression) -- only because "people like the way they look". This is very irresponsible, to say the least, and is undoubtedly detrimental to the survival of a healthy population of this species. We should focus on our protecting them in the wild where they belong, while the breeding of big cats in captivity, never mind this and similar genetic hocus-pocus should be made illegal.
