warfarin and other anticoagulants impact the entire environment, just as DDT and other toxic "pest" controls did, by travelling up the food chain far past their intended targets. in this modern age of nontoxic alternatives, the only excuse is that they are cheaper - and they are cheaper ONLY because the nonpoisonous versions are not sufficiently used to be mass-produced economically. we need to not only call for a halt to the dangerous chemiclas, but encourage economic incentives to produce and use the safe alternatives.
