This is a step but it is not enough. We need to stop fracking all together. We are highly capable of a sustainable, eco-friendly way of life, yet the corporations and governments are dumbing us down and making us believe this is not so. It is time we rise up and demand the freeing of the many better options that have been developed.

I also agree with Nicole, but I did make the comment that regulation is not enough, we need enforcement, and that the employment provided by getting enough staff to enforce regulations should at least help the economy.

Sorry but any request to Obama is a waste of time. He is extremely anti-environmental and could have stopped fracking by EO by now. He hasn't as we shall soon see the XL pipeline and fracking with WH blessing. Those that voted for him should create an uproar.

John Gregoire, I'm gonna have to disagree with you. Obama has actually accomplished a lot in the way of environmentalism, as described in the following link: http://www.democrats.org/news/blog/president_obamas_environmental_accomplishments. However, we must remember one guy can't do everything. He already has a lot on his plate being pressured to make change regarding guns as well as the fiscal cliff. And he is a politician, he has to play the game of appeasing the majority and most of the population cares more about the economy than anything else.

Thus, we need to stop relying on politicians to make things happen. One guy can't do everything, but an entire nation can. It's time we the people step up and make needed change happen instead of waiting around for other people.

I am angry that we are not given more ecologically sound alternatives. Fracking is totally unacceptable. No citizen was asked if we wanted it, it was quietly thrust upon us and to hell with our opinion.
