A cat owner has discovered her pet, Merlin, has a purr as loud as a lion after it registered at an ear-splitting 100 decibels

I'd rather live next door to a cat with a loud purr than a bunch of screaming kids!

Noted. Thanks, Cher.

Would rather have a happy loudly purring cat than a barking dog.

This could explain Tracy’s dog’s deafness. “Maybe Merlin’s purred him to deaf.” lol

He looks so much like my long-lost Archie. What a dear. It's not only the decibels, it's color of the sound that makes it undesirable, and I'm sure Archie's purr is pure white and very even, unlike the constantly-changing and grating sounds of kids or even barking dogs.

Kitty must really love it's guardian. This or any loud purring cat is perfect for the hard of hearing.

would like to hear it. My cat is oblivious to most recording of animals on the web. It would be pay back for her waking me up too early. can't type this message out too well, she is resting her head on my arm.

Unique for a little kitty. They all seem to purr differently.
