Jack's Pet Center in Great Falls, Montana, reportedly keeps six capuchin monkeys on display, cruelly confining them to a tiny cell with no enrichment. PETA routinely receives calls from customers who leave the store distraught by the sight

Capuchin monkeys are undomesticated animals—their wild instincts are still intact. They are notoriously high-strung and easily stressed, and when confined, they're subjected to (what are for them) bizarre stimuli and people (whom they would naturally avoid) crowding around them—all without means of escape. Deprived of adequate mental stimulation, proper exercise, and the opportunity to exist as nature purely intended, they can develop neurotic and self-destructive behaviors.

PETA urged the store's owners to allow us to find a sanctuary where these animals can live closer to how nature intended, but to no avail. Please politely implore Jack's Pet Center to do right by the monkeys—then forward this alert widely!

Noted, tweeted, read, tweeted, shared and sent email. One more time we allow our ignorance and desire for money to harm animals.

Signed and email sent. Obviously they don't really like animals and are only seeing them as a way to make some profit... Horrible.

I wrote a letter of my own to them - I can't believe those barren cells they have got them in. Whatever I might think my letter was polite in the hope of persuading them they were doing the wrong thing!!
