I have seen ads with a computer generated image of an orangutan that was very realistic (I think it was an ad for a cough syrup)- we don't need to abuse animals anymore for tv shows or ads with the advent of computer graphics.

I refuse to sign anything that Peta helps to create. Peta thinks that owning a pet is animal cruelty and when they talk about saving animals, remember that they euthanize 90% of the animals that they claim that they have "rescued".
What other reason does an organization have an 8x12 walk in freezer in their headquarters for?

Just because a company uses animals in ads does not mean that the animals are being mistreated. Just because the ecoterrorists at Peta say so, does NOT make it true; as a matter of fact, if Peta says so, it is most likely NOT true.
