As a 10th grader in biology class we dissected a frog. I got nothing out of it, as I remember looking away the whole time.

Ditto Allan ! Signed ! What an archaic, barbaric and needless practice. I was forced to dissect a cat for a human anatomy class in college and learned nothing in terms of human anatomy, nor did I retain any information about the whole disgusting affair. Most don't. Useless. Useless. Useless. Education institutions - get your asses out of the dark age.

Biology--the study of life--why then, do they show such a lack of respect for all animal life-forms and the ecosystem on which we all rely? What a damn shame that that is the biggest lesson they are teaching in these classes!

Signed and noted. There is no reason for this - if a child is going to take up medicine or veterinary work, there is plenty of time for this later, once they've chosen their career. In the meantime thousands of animals are being sacrificed needlessly FOR WHAT????

This is awful Why does anyone need to dissect creatures at school anyway You can learn parts of a body with drawings We dont dissect human bodies at school to see what we look like Its just another excuse for sadistic humans to be cruel to animals etc Time this stopped now as with all vivisection procedures

We are always signing petitions to stop this practice in laboratories -this must be stopped with children in schools -there are -other alternatives -this is not teaching them compassion for animals-this is not necessary .
