Lennox the Boxer may have lost the battle with cancer, but he got the dish of his dreams before heading to the Rainbow Bridge.

Lennow really enjoyed his meal. The cat above my name died of cancer and I had to feed him through a syringe. I finally had to let him go and after 2 1/2 years, my heart is broken. A co-worker told me she had to put her dog down and that day, put soft music on and lite candles, then gave him a meal of everything he liked. After her vet's office closed, her vet stopped by the home and euthanized the dog, My co-worker was adament about the dog dying at home and his last moments be in a comfortable environment full of love. I so admire her. I don't think my vet would do this as I live a distance from him.

What a great pity I had a similar experience myself with my last dog. It's heartbreaking to lose any animal but I would rather they die of natural causes than cancer which can be lingering and awful for both animals and humans..

A bittersweet story for it so hard to lose any pet! But at least this Lennox had the comfort of living as long a life as he was able to do and had his favorite meal before he was put to sleep in the company that he loved the most- his family! How I wish that all dogs could live their lives out with warm companionship and their final moments be in the arms and company of those that loved them! Rest in peace now dear Lennox and please know that your guardian will soon join you at the Rainbow Bridge.

May the Almighty remember Lennox.

I did something like that with a dog I had, he loved cookies so the day before he passed I gave him all the cookies he wanted.

While I hate to see any animal suffer, this dog was loved and cared for in his life. He was very lucky.

I believe showing the last meals of unwanted, homeless animals in shelters would be a good way to get the word out to adopt rather than buy a pet.

I had a similar experience with my dog, after almost 18 years I had to let my Pomeranian go. He had brain tumor, it was a heart breaking decision.
I never wanted to have another dog again, it was to painful.
My daughter decided that we must have another dog. Good for you Dad. She took me to a guy who had a few puppies he wanted to sell. "I want this one" and gave it to me to hold. Black, the size of a kitten, a Rottweiler. I never wanted to get close to him and let my wife and daughter feed him. But he became close to me because slowly he ended up to be my responsibility and we became best friends. He is 14 moths old now and has grown huge and strong, quite a handful.
