When your new pet is the opposite species of the pet you have at home, you have to move carefully. Here's how.

These are great tips, but each case is different. Usually, it's more difficult to introduce a dog to a cat - especially if the dog is not a puppy. Puppies, and DOCILE adult cats tend to bond quite easily.

Even introducing cats to cats can be tricky! My two females HATED the male kitten from day one and never, EVER deigned to accept him.

This is very important. So many animals are returned to the shelters because humans don't use their heads and throws the animals together and figure they can fight it out. Please people, make an effort and give these animals a chance to live in a peaceful house. It takes effort on your part, but well worth it.

Conservative introduction techniques go a L-O-N-G way in the care & well being of the long term furry family!

This article is great for anybody who is considering bring home another pet into the house for a different species or even the same species! Trying to find pets who have similar energy levels or activity levels, and similar personalities is very important as far as compatibility is concerned!
