Take a minute to look at the items around you. Chances are many of them are made of plastic. This isn't surprising; almost everything we buy is plastic. If it isn't, it often still comes packaged in plastic and/or put in a plastic bag. Canadians use an

Glass containers of food -- please. What's up doc ? where are the petitions-- one for each company to use glass, not plastic?
Almost every where one finds food in plastic containers. That same food used to come in glass, or paper, or cartons -- that were bio-degradable and not harmful to the people and the earth.

So definitely noted, signed, twittered and google shared. Have my own cloth grocery bags, recycle and re-use. Excellent post Cher! I am constantly pulling things out of the garbage at my house that my housemates just throw away and I break them down and put them in the recycle bin.

Plastic is one of my pet peeves - all the wrappings and hermitically sealed packages, all the big plastic containers for six cookies - argggh. Yes, this is one I can easily sign - thank you!

Signed, noted, and shared. Thank you. Of course, we've been trying to do this for years. It is so sad to see a tree with a bag hanging on it. Styrofoam cups and plastic bottles floating on the water represent our lack of care for each other AND the environment.

signed, noted. The world is drowning in plastics. And think half a century ago they barely existed. Oceans are full of plastics, animals die with digestive systems loaded with plastics. And recycling plastics is not a very good solution, as they keep going more and more toxic. I think what we may do is: NEVER throw away any plastic. Reuse them. Keep them. Make something else with them. I take my plastic bags over and over to the market, using them over and over. They last a lot. Buy things in glass or paper, avoid plastics. Please.
