Rusty, Dennis, and Cutie brighten my days at Whiskers Animal Benevolent League. I wish I could take them all home!

I have given time to our local shelter, that is the most difficult task ever. Each week there are all new faces, and not because all the cats and dogs were adopted. I have worked with city council members and local vets to try to get health care and a NO KILL policy in place. To date I am sorry to say, that policy remains for them on the back burner of important issues.

I have spent time at our local shelter and I love it there. I wish I could rescue them all.

Noted. Thanks, Cher. I can vouch for the occupational hazards of shelter work - including bringing them home! I have 6 cats and 2 dogs from the shelter and fortunately, a lot of room and love to give.

The 60 plus people who volunteer at our shelter would do anything for our animals. True volunteers will take what ever comes, and make it work - for the animal. I can so relate to this article, it made me smile in places as I can well understand.
The only thing I do not do anymore is foster - the last one I kept. It is simply too heart breaking letting them go. It's one of those situations where you can't let your heat rule your head. Clearly, I am not strong enough.

All animals are beautiful, but I can see your attraction to these. God Bless all the animals in the world and those that love and care for them.

Sigh... indeed far from an ideal world. (spay/neuter would make for less unnecessary suffering)!
