Sir, the President of the Republic, I would send you this letter, together with a petition to you to express my indignation, and that humans still have a heart. I am outraged that France, practice vivisection. Vivisection literally means that which is cut a live animal, which is what is actually practiced in the past, including eighteenth century where the Cartesian philosophy denied the possibility of suffering animals machinery. Therefore, nothing prevented nailing dogs live and conduct experiments on them. Nowadays, such practices are no longer humans but continue to use a very large number of animals for scientific experiments. A country like our sacrifices each year hundreds of thousands of rodents, thousands of cats and dogs, and hundreds of primates. In this sentence, Dr. Wolfgang Bohn, confirms that alternative methods exist: We have a large number therapeutic methods and medicines purchased without torture animals, but they have not been used and disseminated as they deserve, simply because the modern generation of researchers do not know any other method that vivisection. Why test on humans with only love to give and not knowing the meaning of the word "hate"? Instead, why not choose rapists or serial killers? Indeed, it is easier to release monsters after only one year prison ... Do you really, that the suffering of animals sacrificed in very long agonies, is the price of your abominable coquetry? Like Gandhi said that great, "You can judge the greatness of a nation by the way animals are treated. " Should we understand that our nation is worthy of the Middle Ages? human race behaves as the primary era. And you think changed? Thank you for letting me read, and most importantly, to stop this genocide which grew every day. Dekuypère Ophelia, 17.

These are not even third world countries that are still doing all these experiments on animals Its totally barbaric
and disgusting that humans can still treat animals like this in this day and age Shame on France and all the other nations that practice this I hope one day the people that do this will get experimented on Stick acid or whatever in their eyes but they deserve even worse than that throw them to the wild animals that would be a bit better

This makes me so mad, these innocent victims should never be tortured like this. In this day and age there are other alternatives for testing without using animals. They need to join others that have stopped using animals. I will never give up until this stops. No living creature should ever have to endure this.

I do believe Dr. Joseph Mengele would be so proud of these vivisection experiments. What companies allow this to happen. The names need to be made public so we can ban their products!

Monday January 28, 2013, 10:21 pm
You're right Aurea, we need to know what companies allow this to happen and make it public. How else are we going to be able to stop vivisection. Signed, thanks Cher

Julia R (296)

We all need to boycott all companies that still practice this indefensible and absolutely unnecessary extreme cruelty! We are supposed to be living in the 21st century but when I see these experiments I feel as though we are living back in the dark ages! Where is the enlightenment? Why can't these people see the importance of morality and that we cannot exclude any sentient being from what is right and ethical! All of these poor animal victims can be replaced by newer technologies that actually have more application to our species and yet we still see that these barbaric atrocities still continue!
"It is totally unconscionable to subject defenseless animals to mutilation and death, just so a company can be the first to market a new shade of nail polish or a new, improved laundry detergent...It's cruel, it's brutal, it's inhumane, and most people don't want it." - Abigail 'Dear Abby' Van Buren Testifying before the House Judiciary Committee in support of the Consumer Products Safe Testing Act, March 1988

Noted. Quite honestly I didn't like the wording of the petition but have signed it on principle. Suggesting using humans (prisoners etc) is not, to my mind, something that should be included in a petition (especially addressed to the President of a country). I know many of us THINK it, but it takes away some credence of the cause.

Martin Luther King Jr. is quoted as saying, “Never, never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society's punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way.”
