A string of animal injuries at SeaWorld establishments around the U.S. has proven that the company is not taking enough care to ensure animal enclosures are safe for habitation. If intelligent aquatic mammals are going to be held captive, the responsible

Signed! They are treated as criminals and incarcerated in prisons merely for being beautiful and intelligent. Too bad animals are at our "mercy", as so little exists of that quality.

Noted & Signed! What Sea World is doing is contributing to the deaths of many marine animals in captivity exploiting them for profit! Their whole idea of using these animals for entertainment has led to the premature deaths of many of these animals who are very unhappy being forced to live in captivity! I totally boycott Sea world because if they really cared about marine life they wouldn't imprison them! They're also contributing to the dolphin hunts in Japan as it is the money that Sea World is giving to buy the dolphins for these shows which is responsible for the dolphin drives which leads to the brutal deaths of thousands of dolphins every year! But Sea World doesn't care about those dolphins!

They have no excuse for not treating these animals with the most care, do they not understand where their livelihood comes from?

Some yrs. ago I chanced upon an online story while digging for info for a school project. The article referenced Lolita, a killer whale who was kept at the Miami Seaquarium; additionally, unsafe facilities & sick & diseased marine mammals who were not being properly attended to. Lolita's tank was much too small for a killer whale, + orcas require companionship & don't do well by themselves to begin with. They're used to living in pods in the wild. The story displayed the tank & a diagram of it it was truly ridiculously small, esp. in comparison to the min. amt. of space that such a large mammal requires to live in. Also, there was reported to be too much chlorine in the water. These creatures need natural sea water. Why do some aquariums use chlorine? And yet further, Lolita was getting sunburned. I recall getting involved with a proj. to move Lolita to a better environment as well as to get the Seaquarium CEO to get better vet. care for the poor animals & make needed improvements to the facilities. myself & other interested & concerned folks were sending emails to the Seaquarium, mIami city officials, etc. I received no responses & the person in charge of the proj. finally sent me a msg stating that he was just getting nowhere. So thanks - I'll see if I can dig up the info again & try to find out what happened. I didn't know about Care 2 then. If I had, I think a lot more could have been done. I just hope thta Lolita is still alive.
