Makes me wonder if Dave was devious enough to create a set up where he'd get some money thru' people's sympathy for Buzz. I wonder whether Buzz should be living with him. Pretty bad when a person is a parasite on their dog.

Wow, I am sadly not surprised by this man's actions. Clean or not, he is still working with the mindset of a drug addict and I feel very sorry for Ms. Sanchez for having her kindness thrown back in her face and for forcing her to relive the haunting memories of what life can be like when dealing with a drug addict. I dearly wish that Buzz could live with a family that had his best interests at heart. Thank you Cher.

Poor dog he deserves better, than this poor excuse for an owner whose only concern is making money from the situation -the remaing money should go to the shelter-not him-I hope this doesn't deter the kind compassionate Miss Sanchez from helping others in the same situation.

We can be such a sad species sometimes when desperate people do stupidly desperate acts.

What an asshole. A good person tries to do the right thing and along comes a typical human to screw it all up. I hope the dog is taken care of, but he and his wife can rot for all I care. Good for Maria for trying to help in the first place and then for deciding to return the money to others who tried to help out when things clearly went bad. Stories like this just make you shake your head in disgust at what humans are capable of.

That man is a jerk- the shelter worker handled the money situation well. Too bad she will be soured by the experience.

What an unfortunate situation for all concerned. Personally, I think it's too bad the money that was left over didn't go to other unfortunate dogs, cats, and other animals in the pound, to make their lives less miserable. Too bad the owner of Buzz is such a jerk, but then most addicts are not rational. Miss Sanchez is to be commended, and I hope this doesn't stop her from doing other good deeds in the future. Thanks for the article, Cher.

I think Lady Sanchez is using much wisdom.

I have this wonderment in my mind that is probably unreal but so is the entire episode.

Could this addict have orchestrated the whole thing? Naaahhh BUT?

Give the dog to the shelter worker. They're the one who deserves the dog.

Ms Sanchez is right to return any excess money so this greedy guy can't get any money for things other than what it was intented for. Bet he really doesn't treat this poor dog any better either.

It was the right idea of Ms Sanchez to return the money left, as this man was just thinking if was a windfall. I feel so sorry for that dog, as I feel he probably is not treated very good.

What a SCUMBAG Dave is!!! Ms Sanchez is and was the hero here, good on her for doing such a remarkable and selfless act to help an innocent animal. Its a shame that Buzz had to go back to him after all he only seemed interested in what he could get out of such a sad and pathetic situation,if i had donated and then found out just how mean spirited this man is i would take my money back too,he certainly doesnt deserve it .I feel so sorry for Buzz.
