Sumatran tigers WILL disappear in the wild. There's absolutely no question about it! Every birth is critical for their survival at all....good for SF Zoo!

L.A. Zoo has had FIVE born in the last few years....each one a treasure!

To those of you who say "I'm sorry to say this but they're better off in a zoo....".....OF COURSE THEY ARE! It's wonderful to see them surviving.

I definitely have mixed feelings on zoos but humans have done such a horrendous job on destroying the wild that sometimes, in order to save a species, zoos are the last resort.
I wish the momma and baby well.

What a crappy world this is that these animals need to live in a zoo in order to be able to live!

I hope they will be safe, after what happen there on Xmas 2007. A female Siberian tiger killed in a hail of police gunfire after fatally mauling a man at the San Francisco Zoo on Christmas Day 2007 likely was provoked into leaping and clawing out of its enclosure. He was a despicable SOB & he payed for it, was a shame that Tatiana lost her life because of it! They do have a electric fence now.

It's a shame there still are so few of these tigers, but this is exciting news! Wish more zoos could be as successful.

Such a precious cub. I don't to see any animals in a zoo, but in this case the Sumatran tigers are endangered, and their habitats have been ruined by palm oil plantations.
