The annual Rattlesnake Roundup in Sweetwater, Texas is the largest of its kind in the world. First started in 1958 to protect livestock from the snakes, rattlesnakes actually present relatively little danger to livestock.

The danger of Rattlesnakes is even more exaggerated than that of Sharks. Rattlesnakes are very beneficial to the environment by keeping the rodent population down.

Signed. Not only is the roundup cruel to the snakes, think of all the other animals that may get sick from the chemicals that are put into the snake's burrows to drive them out.

Sorry but unless you have experienced sitting with your family watching TV and hear a snake rattle from behind your chair, I dare say you do not get it. We have big rgglesnakes in NC also

The animal is not endangered nor at risk, very edible and the hunt gives an idea of how many you have.

There is no waste

The use of poison shows the torturers' unwise contempt not only for rattlesnakes, but for the other 25 animal species that live in the same burrows, and for the earth itself. Noted, signed and shared, thanks!

signed...this is illegal in arizona, you cannot kill a rattler even if it poses a danger, you must call the fire dept.
they show up with a bucket ,take the snake and relocate him
problem is they are territorial,so they usually come back....they cannot relocate them further that 3 miles by Arizona law..
texas is still trying to be the "wild west", and they are the worse for it

signed, noted and shared. the enormity of this has been showed on the programme 'rattlesnake republic'. there are other ways to deal with them, but remember that humans have caused this problem themselves; and if you take them out, you disrupt the ecosystem
