Don't those two words sum it all up? Hunters slaughtered, well what else do they do?

Article read and noted. Tragic! - I realize it would be a big operation but why couldn't they be moved?

Hunters use any excuse to go out and slaughter animals. This is beyond disgusting.

Well, they didn't slaughter for the sake of slaughtering and so I disagree with those that think this was tragic. Ofcourse, the article didn't explore whether other options were available and/or considered by the government. I think we need to dig deeper before making final conclusions.

VERY REASONALBE DECISION !!! "The reindeer, naturally at home in the polar regions, were imported by whalers in the early 20th century to be used as a source of food....The meat from the culled reindeer, which were killed in recent weeks, has been taken by freezer ship to the Falkland Islands where it will be sold to residents and passing cruise ships to offset the 500,000 cost of the cull."
Sounds very logical and very resonable -- in the transitions that people are going through.
If you are going to kill an animals -- at least make good use of all the parts of the animal, say prayers and be thankful for the animal. Most people still need some meat in their diets. Raindeer are also know as elk. EVEN IF YOU ARE VEGAN -- YOU REALY CANNOT CRITICIZE THIS. WE ARE NOT TO JUDGE AND CRITICIZE PEOPLE FOR WHAT THEY EAT OR DO NOT EAT.
PEOPLE MAY PERSUADE PEOPLE AND THAT IS ALL .

DO YOU EAT MEAT ? Then this is a good decision bcause the people there eat meat. This is probalby -- way healthier meat than factory-farm meat.
IF YOU DO NOT EAT MEAT --- THEN YOU HAVE BEEN GVIEN A GIFT --- THAT MOST PEOLE DO NOT HAVE -- IT DOES NOT MAKE YOU SUPERIOR TO OTHER PEOPLE -- OR BETTER. YOU ARE WHAT YOU ARE, AND A MEAT EATER IS WHAT A MEAT EATER IS.

A JUDGEMENTAL CRITICLE VEGAN IS ONE PERSON -- THAT IS HOORIBLE AND A DISGRACE TO HAMANKIND!

I'm not for hunting of any kind... but is it considered hunting when the animals are penned before being shot down?? Sad, sad.

Sad, tragic, and inhumane as it may sound, biologically and environmentally speaking, it is often necessary for herd health and diversity for culls to take place. Relocation is not a solution because it is only a matter of time until the new location is denuded.

While it is a sad event, the fact is they are a terrible scourge on the land for the local wildlife. At least they are not wasting the animals. The Norwegians should never have let them loose in the first place. Theirs is the fault.

I hate the word "cull". They were murdered.

People worry of the overpopulation of humans but would we allow the "culling" of our fellow humans to fix the problem? I still do not even think there is such a thing as having too many of an animal species. It is humans that have caused most of the destruction of earth.

They should have been moved and this slaughter could have been possibly avoided.
