Even a cat's passing can bring joy and life lessons, if we are open to them.

My cats teach me to live in the moment ~ be aware and receptive and accepting. They have always let me know when their time has come, and I help them go in peace and love.

I love stories about cats, this is something I don't want to think about.

When my beloved Sadie got cancer, I knew she was suffering and was ready to go when she mostly stayed in her hidey-hole box in the back of the room. The day I made the appt., it was noon and I was watching TV, trying to keep my mind off of what was coming. Suddenly there she was...almost like when she was well...she just appeared and jumped on my lap. She cuddled up and purred. We stayed this way until my brother picked us up for our 5 PM vet appt. This last loving act of hers was such a gift to me. I have all my cats' ashes in labeled urns, in a place of honor, with their pictures so that I can continue to honor them after they've passed.

I didn't think I was capable of being in the same room when my first cat was put down. When it came time, not only was I there, I stroked him, and gave him a kiss. If I didn't do it, I would be regretting it to this day.

Always remember to let those around you know that you love them. You may not ever get another chance.

Article read and note. I don't have a cat, but I would of course feel the same about our dog. We lost one many years ago now, and it took a period of grieving to realize that I had all the good times to remember.
Thank You Cher.

Noted and cried! I have always had cats and lost many. It is very hard to lose the ones you love, but I will always need my kitties in my life. They do teach and give unconditional love. Some days, I just want to spend time with my pets, 4 cat, a dog and birds rather than going out and shoppiing or something else. Thank you Cher!
