Mine was Cinnamon, an outdoor sweetheart I can barely remember. Who was your first cat?

When I was in the Navy, I found a stray kitten by the barracks. I adopted her, and believe me, it was hard hiding her when we had barracks/room inspections. All of the gals chipped in, and helped with my rescue of this little Siamese kitten. After I got out, and went into the Reserves, she lived with us, and lived to a ripe old age 16. My beloved elderly cat, Calli passed away a couple weeks ago. I miss her, and all the ones in between. Pet relationships stick with us, even after all these years. Thanks, Cher for this. HAPPY EASTER all. xoxox

Mine was Cinnabar and she was a Siamese, but just baby left to wander the neighborhood. I was 12, and she was a wonderful friend. She lived till she was ten and (supposedly) walked in the street. Now my cats and/or dogs live inside. People drive with careless abandon even on small neighborhood streets. Some younger little turds actually aim for family pets playing outside.

Our first one was Mr. Whiskers, a ginger long hair that was my mom's baby. Don't remember how old he was, he died youngish by a car, destroyed my mother. You're right Kit, I've seen too many cars and trucks aim for cats. I learned my lesson losing 2 young ones that way, now they are prisoners of my house!

He was Paddy O'Brien, a tough, rangy stray tomcat. We were too poor to do much for him, but he got neutered, had a home and was fed well. I've had 23 since then, 6 now, plus 11 barn cats and a slew of ferals
(all neutered and vaxed!!)

i was 6 years old when our family doctor gave me my first kitty, Fluff.
i travelled to another state when i was 15 & upon returning i was tearfully informed by mum that Fluff was dead, poisoned by our neighbour. We know she did it because she confessed to putting poison in her back yard for the 'pesky' cats & she also proudly confessed to drowning kittens in a bucket of water!*SHUDDER* Over a decade later i moved back to mums for a short while, this time with my daughter & our Siamese kitty, Figaro... i received a panicked call from mum one day at work, Fig was frothing at the mouth & having seizures! We got him to the vet on time & he survived, his stomach was pumped. The contents? BAITED chicken!!!!

Only indoor kitties since!

Slightly off topic but i need to share...

Last week i was doing some gardening at the front of my place which is 'common ground', i.e. not fenced. My little Chihuahua Wolf was with me, a neighbour shot at him through his screen door with a TASER! i heard it clearly & saw his shadow at the door, i don't think he aimed directly at Wolf butit was close enough, my baby jumped so high in the air & ran to me, shaking! i hear the taser almost every night in this persons back yard, i fear he's hurting wild life, which we have in abundance here.
There's another neighbour here who threatened to 'hurt' Wolf, i don't understand why, he doesn't bark & he's always under my supervision. So now before i let him out into my fenced back yard i have to do a patrol to check nothing poisonous has been thrown over my back gate.
My heart aches for humans with such evil intent.
I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND THIS CRUELTY

Mine was Theo. Someone found him wondering in a busy Montreal street. A kitten, about six months, sweet little orange ball, playful, so although i brought him home to have him adopted, alas, he stayed with me for 13 years. We developed a real special bond. I had named him Theodore which, in Greek, means a gift from God and he was indeed! I still miss him....

I remember mine. I knew nothing about cats and named him Precious as I thought he was a she. He got a pink collar and walked on a leash as I had been used to dogs before he came into my life and taught me about cats!

Kunsioux, I believe you must report that to the police.

I second that, Kit with your comment. With a neighbor like that, Kunsioux, NO ONE is safe, human or animal, and a Taser is dangerous.!! There are limitations on 'hunting' wildlife in a residential area too, but for safety factors, I'd report this person(s) for threats and actual targeting your dog. Filing a complaint with your neighborhood association, or law enforcement is helpful, as they will go talk to this neighbor. What a shame that you have to look over your shoulder like that.

Mine was a long haired black and white cat named Tough Cat though we also had several "barn cats" {this was back in the 70's}. When we moved from Oklahoma to Texas my mom made me give him up and she found him a good home.

Mój pierwszy kot, a raczej kotka, miała na imię Pamela i była małą, strasznie dziką kotką znalezioną na podwórku i oswojoną przeze mnie (nie obyło się bez mocnych zadrapań). Miałam wtedy kilka lat.
