As Joni Mitchell sang in 1970 "You don't know what you've got till it's gone".
"It is the power of capital that builds and destroys things of beauty". C. Veloso - Brazil

Noted with a heavy heart for the indigenous tribes that have to live there. Thanks Cher.

Part of the contract for allowing drilling, mining etc. should be to ensure that environmental considerations are taken into account; this should include clean-up operations after the project has ended, protection for wildlife and habitats, replanting where logging has happened etc. These companies make huge amounts of profits, and some of those profits should be ploughed back into the environment.
