Can't wait for the nay-sayers to jump in on this one!!! Or in this case will the good outweigh the bad in their opinion?

We have reached a crisis point, and conservationists turn to synthetic biology to correct the damage done. For example: " We can think of creating artificial wetlands to treat polluted waters instead of using costly industrial processes if we engineer things carefully. We can return to processes that are more natural." The premise here is if successful - that we will work for the good of our environment now. REALLY ?

Interesting possibilities providing it doesn't go sideways as some things do when humans tinker --- thinking example GMO corn.
