Wolverines thrive in some of the most extreme, inhospitable places on earth--from the frozen tundra to the jagged snow-covered peaks of the West. But right now, climate change is threatening some wolverines' last snowy holdouts in the lower forty-eight

Wolverines have tough times ahead of them worldwide. Here in Finland the reindeer keepers demand the government to refund every dead reindeer caused by a wild animal, and often the cause of death has been a natural one, but s wolverines, and wolves alike, are also scavengers particularly in the winter, it is difficult for anybody to say the true cause of death, and that would demand a vet specialized in as an animal coroner. Urbanization is the curse on wolverines, as well as deforestation and other ways to make use of nature's riches. People should really think which is better: no wildlife anywhere but in zoos with hundreds of new houses everywhere,or wildlife in the wild and less one family houses. We need every wolverine in the wild, since they are nature's own sanitation workers. Nothing once lived goes to waste in nature. If legislation only took the habitat issues of many endangered animals to heart, it would be part of a solution, but people need environmental education to understand the true losses we face in the near future by extinction. Wolverine sanctuaries would be ideal, but it is hard to build a fence long enough to keep all wolverines inside, since they can travel tens of miles to hunt or forage. The wolverine needs legal protection and so does its habitats everywhere.
