Every forest we have in this world is worth protection, since they are the only large bodies of plants to provide us with oxygen and at the time by photosynthesis they bind carbon. Every tree logged is a piece of lungs removed. Deforestation for palm oil plantations and logging have destroyed cast areas of rainforests, tropical and subtropical forests, endangering the habitat of many members of wildlife and causing many species to near extinction. the Broadback Valley forest is a unique ecosystem, and it has its own, endemic wildlife from the smallest fungus to its largest mammals.
Canada has signed the Kyoto Protocol, and it entered into force 15th December 2012. The Kyoto Protocol is all about climate change and green house gases. And now the officials are about to murder another part of world's oxygen producers, which is against the Kyoto Protocol in spirit and morally. The more we lose trees, the more green house gases enter the atmosphere, since tre trees are no longer there to reduce e.g. the CO2 emissions. And the native Caribou lives in the area, and it is becoming endangered by logging.
The importance of abiding by the Kyoto Protocol is imperative, and as Canada has ratified and entered into force the Protocol and the USA has not even ratified it, the would be a great opportunity in the political arena to lead by example. The importance of the Kyoto Protocol cannot be emphasized enough, since the global warming is unstoppable, but can be slowed down, it is only a matter of doing the decisions and choices.
Signed, shared and noted.

Petition signed. Not that I resent signing it, but I really wish we didn't have to--I wish there were no endangered forests! Or endangered species of any kind, for that matter. Well, one can dream.

If, on your way down to sign this petition, you did not stop to read the remarks by Isa Villanen.....I encourage to do so on your way back up..........Thank you , Isa, for your enlightening narrative, it is to point and very understandable .......I quote," For every tree cut down, we lose a lung,".....cannot hit home any clearer than that. !!!!!!!
