Rescuers had to stop Inge's owner from jumping in after her.

You must always keep an eye on your animals, they are like children, they don't know any better.

Jim - you may be a loving pet dad but you made a very bad mistake...! Especially with a BLIND dog...amazed me that you didn't know better! But mistakes DO happen. Thank God little sweetie Inge was rescued. Poor thing - what a shock to her little, old, blind system! All my animals have been inside animals but I still was always aware of where they were, what they were doing. if I don't see my current rescue cat, Ruby, (who HATES the outside and stays away from the door) every few minutes, I go looking for her. Pets are like kids - you must watch out for them every minute. It only takes a second for a tragedy to happen. I wonder if Jim would have let his blind child out of the car, especially while surrouned by icy water, like he did Inge?

That poor dog literally didn't know what hit him; that little face of shock was a killer.
