Action already taken. Many companies who "develop" this land will kill the indigenous people to force them off it illegally. Palm oil is causing the demise of many endangered species as reserves are illegally cut down and animals such as orangutans are forced out and killed.

Palm oil is in virtually all processed food and is being used as biofuel. A great example of how, in saying that they are protecting the environment, the governments are actually destroying it.

This is a worthwhile cause. You wouldn't believe the damage palm oil plantations do to the environment. I just wrote a blog about it. Check it out ...

It's a sad reflection on our modern, so called, intelligent, civilised society that we cannot see further than our fancy leather wallets when it comes to the environment and those living truly sustainable lives.
If only we could take a leaf out of these indigenous tribes books and learn to live as they do, respecting all aspects of nature, this world would be a far better place.
We need to protect these wonderful people, the forests they live in and the creatures that share the forests with them.

capitalists everywhere in the world are always taking advantage of the weakness (financial most especially) of the marginalized and indigenous peoples of the world that oftentimes they find themselves misplaced, struggling for their daily subsistence as a result of their inhumane and greedy intentions.
