Stop Funding Nicotine Experiments on Animals ! PLEASE SIGN ! !

The tobacco industry and federal government both are still funding nicotine and smoking experiments on animals. Every year in the U.S., hundreds of animals are harmed and killed in experiments to test the effects of nicotine and tobacco.

If the tobacco industry is going to experiment on anyone, why not criminals, and not animals who can't voice an objective to their being illtreated?

What is behind cigarettes, tobacco companies and animal testing?

For decades, the tobacco companies have been hiding behind to animal testing, trying to forget that everything we know about lung cancer and other smoking-related diseases has been discovered through epidemiological and clinical studies and not from vivisection.
Although the United States federal law no longer requires that tobacco products are tested on animals and the fact that since 97' animal testing in this area are illegal in the UK, every day thousands of animals continue to be tortured with devices such as smoke masks (smoke masks) immobilized on restraint chairs in horrific experiments and useless.
The Oregon Regional Primate Research Center (ORPRC) in the US, pregnant monkeys are confined in narrow cages to study the effect that nicotine has on fetuses.
The experimenter Eliot Spindel admits that "the harmful effects of smoking during pregnancy have long been known." Nevertheless, these experiments in which animal researchers dissect infants to study the lungs, are subsidized by US taxpayers' money until 2004.
This is just one of countless examples of how animal experiments are used by multinationals only for petty economic gains and by the experimenters themselves for a career on the skin of millions of innocent animals.
The vivisectors have received, and still receive large sums from the tobacco companies such as Philip Morris, by government agencies, including the Environmental Protection Agency and the National Institute of Health, to poison the animals with nicotine, forcing them to inhale the smoke and making them dependent on tobacco, a substance that they would never have met if it were not for the folly of the species called "homo sapiens".

Other experiments to study the tobacco include other absurd atrocities:

- In Beagle dogs are made holes in the gorge through which the dogs are forced to inhale cigarette smoke concentrate, during a whole year - to other dogs of the electrodes are inserted into the penis to study the effect of cigarette smoking on sexual performance
- in the monkeys and mice are put masks so that they have continually breathe cigarette smoke
- the dogs are placed in a mechanical ventilator that exposes them to smoke perpetually
- of rhesus monkeys are immobilized on restraint chairs and exposed to doses of nicotine and caffeine to determine how these substances affect breathing.

Experiment after experiment, the researchers are trying to prove, or in some cases to deny (depending on who is funding the experiments), in rats, mice, hamsters, lambs, dogs, monkeys, cats, and other animals, what the scientific community known for a long time thanks to epidemiology studies, which do not use animals.
The experiments are continuing, sacrificing thousands of lives animals simply to test a product in which moreover you know the harmfulness for decades without the need of vivisection.

I hate that there are people that smoke. Smoking kills 6 million humans every year! Why are they torturing and murdering these innocent animals?! We know for a fact that nicotine and cigs are harmful. Don't punish these animals because there are humans that still want to put their life in danger and endanger others.

I hate tobacco. These companies killed my Mother and step Father slowly who both died of emphysema. These same JERKS are torturing and slowly horrifically killing dogs when they know damn well cigarettes are carcinogenic and cause emphysema, cancers in every part of the body, asthma, heart disease, and on and on. It is time these corporation executives inhale their product via the same method as they are delivering their nicotine to these dogs. Plus, they are such evil SOBs they go to 3rd world countries and addict them. Anyone who ever sees someone they love die slowly and waste away to nothing would never ever smoke or allow it around them. Signed TY Cher.

This is truly an example of a sadistic bunch of pseudo scientists torturing animals for the sheer pleasure it gives them to inflict pain and suffering. There cannot be one single person on the globe who is unaware of the effects of smoking and if we continue to smoke we do so at our own risk. For these miserable excuses for human beings in labs to use humans' nicotine habit as an excuse for their repulsive sadism beggars belief. Their own addiction to the inflicting of pain on defenceless animals would make a subject for study that's for sure.
