We just don't get it that tar sands oil, or any oil for that matter, are poison and will, in the end, kill us AND the planet as we know it. A lot of people cite jobs creation as justification for using these "resources", but there will be no jobs if the earth dies.

With the increase in oil spills these days, it's high time we stopped using oil! Only, oil is cheaper (while it lasts), and people assume that cheaper is better... without considering the long-term costs.

And use less oil - go car-free if you can, and encourage your family and friends to do the same. I also encourage everyone here to join the Alternative Transportation group here on Care2 at http://www.care2.com/c2c/group/alttransport .

Noted and signed, protect the BC coast from pollution. We do not need another tanker disaster like Prince William Sound, AK.

Noted and Signed. I have been following all the information I can find on the Enbridge Pipeline going through to Kitimat, B. C., from Alberta, through Canada's last tropical Rain Forest - the Great Bear Rain forest - home of the Spirit Bear (Kermode Bear as First Nations call them). Oil Tankers are going to have a hard time maneuvering through narrow inlets and turbulent waters of place like Grief Point, Calamity Bay and Terror Point - which get their names from the daily stormy seas of this area. It is an environmental disaster in the making -there goes the most magnificent marine eco systems in the Pacific!!! Also the number of Oil Tankers in the Port of Vancouver will be hard for what is left of the Coast Guard to keep up with - there are at least weekly small spills that have to be cleaned up.
