When Blackie climbed up and snuggled into my neck, it was an adoption interview. I got the job.

When I went to the local shelter to adopt a feline companion, Ginger definitely chose me. She leaped into my arms and spoke to my heart -- telling me that I was NOT leaving the shelter without her. I agree with Christeen -- it's a wonderful experience!

Yes! When I was a child a fat white cat with one blue eye and one green eye adopted our family. We loved her instantly. Then she had kittens and died. We were heart broken, but our mother fed the kittens every two hours, and they survived. Eventually, our vet helped find homes for all of the kittens except for our kitten. I love cats to this day. We have two. Our feral cat also adopted us, but I have been thinking we adopted him, but he came to us. Although bringing him inside was a challenge, we eventually managed to get him to come in with tuna. He is such a loving appreciative cat. Everyone love him to pieces.

No doubt!! I even saved one from the side of the road that I swear, walked on to the white line in front of my car just as I was driving by. I travel on that road everyday (and have for 10 years) and have never seen a cat on that road before or since then!! Never lets me out of her sight and follows me all around the house. She's my profile photo!!! :)

In college, I was cooking a late dinner when I heard a noise at the closed window. It was a little spooky, but summoning up the courage, I looked out into the darkness, and saw nothing. Back to cooking. There is was again. This time I turned and studied the window. Suddenly I saw a pink tongue. Going closer, here was a totally black kitten hanging on the screen smack in the middle of the window. Every time it meowed, all I could see was its bright pink tongue! I went around to the door, it jumped down and started meowing at me. I opened the door, he came right in, and I said, "I am going to call you Little Crow." I had that cat for nearly 20 years. Word got out apparently, I have had cats show up on my doorstep many times!

Oh yes!!!!!! Is many years that I have cats at home and every time is a new experience because each of them had their own personality, you have just to learn their way to comunicate with you. Now I have Mia and believe, she's an exceptional communicator and yes, she has definitively adopted me :))))

Apparently, I am a MAGNET for cats with medical issues (which cost LOTS of MONEY) and they somehow find me.

Still, I was just thinking this morning about how much fun it is to seem them get well and begin to achieve their natural personalities.

Oh yes!! Most of mine just skip the middleman, come out of the woods and straight to my door. Like hoboes used to do I think there are signs out there that say "Kind woman lives here".

When I had to put my cat down in '06, I decided I needed another. I went to 3 shelters, tehn I saw HIM...A 4 week old tabby, all alone in a very large cage. As soon as I walked in, he went right to the fron of the cage and said "herrow". I had him taken out of the cage. Not only did he put one paw on each side of my neck, but, he purred under my chin. That was it.

Yep, we named him Kimba because he was white. ;) He was a wild cat but was tame around us! :)

Oh yes! Our cat Charlie adopted us. He started out as the neighbor's down the street but from the time he was a kitten he was showing up at our back door and no matter how many times we returned him, he came right back to the house. We took him in and the neighbors said they could care less (tells you something about them..). A few years ago we found out he had some med issues that needs monitoring all the time. The neighbors recently asked about him (we've had him about 10 years) and when we told them that he's fine but has med issues, they said they would never do what we've done in taking care of him! He must have known they would never be good care givers or care much. He's my constant shadow and just oozes such love - we are so happy and lucky that he chose us!
