The Ontario Government is set to weaken the rules protecting endangered plants and animals, leaving them ever further out on a dangerous limb. Any day now, Cabinet will be making the final decision -- you need to tell them to stop and rethink.

Signed...yes, please "stop and rethink"!! While is it always the animals and environment that suffer first - how about the salaries of government officials? Can't they take a hit for once??!!

Thanks, Cher! Noted, but can't call, I live in Finland. If I could I would phone each and every one of them and give them a piece of my mind about the way endangered animals are treated by big companies by claiming mire land and destroying the nature, no destroy is a wrong word, raping Mother Earth.
We need all inclusive, worldwide protection plan for all endangered animals, and we also need every government to stop destroying their habitats, and Ministries of Defense should call the "scientific" groups on land and on the oceans to home base and stop all harmful experiments. Every Forestry (et al.) departments should stop deforestation and logging in a similar fashion. No zoo would be ever again allowed to keep wild animals. No marine world or park should ever be able to have live marine mammals in their exhibits or as tourist attractions. All dog abusers should be incarcerated and made useful to make toys for animals, for pets and wildlife as well. The world decision would include a safe place in the Arctic for polar bears and all seals. maybe floats with ready made breathing holes. Factory farming should be ended and greener options take place, we need cows walking and eating and chewing the cud at their leisure, Medical companies should let all test animals go and stop all kinds of misuse of e.g. horses and cows and others, especially primates, most of which are in the endangered list. The worldwide must do should also include the reforestation of the Amazon basin, and also any other tropical and sub-tropical forest destroyed by profit makers. All African endangered animals should be divided so, that the predators had their own area with ample pray in it,and the primates, large apes, gorillas in particular, should be placed in another protected area.
All habitats lost for palm oil plantations should be reforested and the orangutans should be re-introduced to their old habitats and left to fend for themselves without any interference from humans.
No nation could net any single bird to make sure that the endangered ones may live and breed. All insects could live their lives with happy abandon, unless they get to be a bother for us humans, and then we could to something tot that problem. All butterflies should be permanently protected. All insecticides should be forbidden, if they kill bees and bumble bees, and there are many ecological methos to get rid of pests. (For instance, fat free milk is good for exterminating greenflies.)
If I wrote any more, the list would go on for tomorrow.... But you have got the idea, I trust. :)

Endangered and delisted animals are the victims of the most base, evil, noncaring, compassionless excuses for human beings that ever cursed the planet. I'll sign anything to get the winds of war thrown at them.

We need to value endangered species as a society and recognize the loss to everyone when a species goes extinct.
