In late April, I took the challenge to get outside with nature for 30 minutes every day in May. I believe it is sponsored by the David Suzuki Foundation, but in any event, it is part of a study. I answered a survey before the beginning of the pledge and I will have another one at the end.

Activities can be gardening, walking, having a picnic etc. I have not been entirely successful in getting out for a walk everyday due to illness (strep) and some really horrid weather, but I can say that I notice a difference in my moods. I took to going for a walk in a park near me with a sandwich and fruit meal. I'd stop at a bench and eat my meal while watching the ocean, listening to the tide come in, the geese and ducks skwacking away, and believe it or not, this introvert actually communicated with strangers usually about their dogs.

There is absolutely no doubt about it, getting out is really good for everyone. Go prepared and enjoy.

Spent 3 hours gardening yesterday! Now, tending will get me out there. Want to get walking to. I envy Lynn's proximity to the ocean! I'd love that!!! I'll walk down the street to the Raritan River!!!
