One must wonder how the dog got to island or more to the point who left him there.

Some heartless monster left the poor little angel on the island, but, God's justice is around the corner for the one who committed this crime!

He was not lost, he was dumped. Looked for him for only 30 minutes and then left?
Good news is that they did get the dog, alive. I hope he survives and gets a forever home.

It's like idiots who dump cats, dogs, rabbits, ducks on the main land believing they will survive.
Any animal used to eatting kibble, canned food, de clawed and never having killed anything bigger than a pair of shoes will NOT survive no matter how much of a fairy tale you spin around the excuse for dumping it.
You could abandon a human in a grocery store surrounded by cans chock full of food, but without knowing how to read, or having a can opener or knowing how to use it.........that person will NOT survive.

The rescuers did a great job. Poor baby, his eyes held a haunted look in the picture of him in the boat. He was badly in need of TLC as well as medical care. I hope he makes it and finds a loving home where he can live out his retirement. A big kiss from me on that lovable nose :-)
