Most people are perturbed by these pesky summertime weeds, but dandelions can be handy -and delicious- if you just know how to use them right.

Americans are late to the table when learning about foods common and appreciated in other countries.

This little girl spent many, many years in the backwoods Ozark Mountains. Everybody ate dandelion greens, drank dandelion tea, even dandelion wine. They're really good..healthy too!

I have eaten it many times. But be prepared for a very bitter taste. You can hide it a little by mixing the greens with a potato salad for example.
Dandelions are excellent detoxifiers.

I love dandelions in salades and recipes. My favorite is chopped dandelions & onion cooked in coconut milk. The add a dash of lemon juice. Delicious with mashed potatoes.

A common garden weed for many, yet a superior medicinal herb for the few... let's turn that around... btw I'm amazed about the amount of commenters knowledgable about dandelion... female power towards EMPOWERMENT!

I am told by my French wife that you have to cover the dandelion with a bucket in the spring and then eat the white leaf. The green leaf is VERY bitter. I bought some once and used it in my morning green smoothie but a little went a long way and I never did it again

My Mom grew up on a farm in PA and they ate them and also made wine with them. I've never tried them myself. Maybe now I will.

My Italian grandparents just used to pluck them, wash them and add vinegar, oil, salt & pepper. Some of these recipes adding other tasty items sound good, though! Thanks, Cher.

I have a yardful, just looking for new recipes, thank you Cher.
Dandelions are so good for you and even just dress up a salad. Makes me mad that people actually kill flowers?! Dandelion wine is a lot of trouble but if you can make it more power to ya, You will have lots more Dandelions in your future.
