The number of Sumatran tigers continues to dwindle, according to a recent study by the World Wide Fund for Nature that indicates previous estimates of the population of the critically endangered species may have been too optimistic.

The tiger is such a fabulous creature, I don't know why we aren't doing more to save them. It breaks my heart that people are willing top poach them for money. I'd die first!!

They need to stop arguing about who has the better plan and begin working together for a common goal, save the Sumatran Tigers.

You can almost feel the WWF's frustration, yes anger on this ongoing tragedy.

I do hope the government does something to protect these animals. Tigers are so magnificent.

All animals need protection against man and laws need to be made to make any offense against any animal extremely severe.

Will we live to see a world where there are no more tigers? :-(

I sure hope not Lynn. A part of the world will fall off of the globe if that ever happens. It is so scary knowing how fast they may/are becoming extinct. I am still hoping that our fighting is not in vain... We need these innocent tigers in this world.

How I hope this magnificent creature gets his piece of the pie; namely, protected from poachers and other slimebags. But then, hope springs eternal.

If they're waiting for Indonesia to take leadership the Sumatran tiger is doomed to extinction. Its better if some preservationists get a plan together and take the Indonesian government by the hand and drag it across the threshold.

They need to start and do something now. Leave the arguing for later as to which plan is best. Just START!

i wish i had the authority to do something about this. it's so vital to save this subspecies because I read that the Sumatran tiger might evolve into a new species, which is absolutely amazing
