By 9th July, Environment Minister Mark Butler must decide on whether to allow the dredging and dumping of 3 million cubic metres of seabed at Abbot Point, near Bowen.

This is so totally wrong doing this the dredging proposal must be dumped Please stop putting the beautiful barrier reef in danger It will damage coral and marine life A shipping lane along the reef will ruin it Leave the reef as it is

I understand the desire to make lots of money exporting Australasia massive coal reserves, but this is wrong. They could use floating wharves or hover craft to move this globally air polluting fossil fuel.

SIgned with comment. Hope this helps. Hope the petition and the work of others does make a differece to halt the destruction of the reef.

I wonder if mankind will discover and implement a way to get some of the oil and natural gas out of the earth -- without drilling and hurting the earth.

We would do well to make alot of wooden floats with water wheels that deliver electricity and thermal energy through use of electric heaters -- to the land homes! We would do well to use water wheels on boats to produce electricity for heaters and coolers, lights and electric needs.

My comment is something ealse on the petition -- that i did not put here.

Does man have to destoy the earth to have this, that, and the other thing -- that usually gets used up or thrown into the dump? Will mankind please stop a minute and re-think, not react, and re- do how mankind lives in such a way that we are not hurting the the earht and all that lives on earth.

Noted and signed, no wonder the reef is dieing. Climate change warming, coral destruction by invasive starfish and parasites that arrive on ship's hulls, pollution from ships like garbage and oil. How much can reefs take, we will know when it is too late.
