In the ever ending war on women's rights, women have claimed yet another victory. Texas was in the process of passing a bill that would have put restrictions on abortion clinics and banned the procedure after 20 weeks.

I doubt that Wendy Davis ever expected that she would become national news. With so many in Texas legislature determined to use the issue of abortion to gain even more power over the rights of the individual, Wendy's voice was a welcomed breath of fresh air. I hope she will run for higher office, maybe the governorship. It would be a joy to see her move into the Governor's mansion.

I don't like this kind of "freedom", soon we will be getting rid of old and sick because they are "unproductive, unwanted, expensive...."

Sign and shared.....isn't it ironic that on Care2Cause there are special departments for everything under the sun (requiring protection)...animals, children, women.....never a category for men....nice to know one (1) gender has it all worked out, wish they'd keep their grubby paws off of my reproductive rights!

Daily Kos has a petition to draft her for governor at
(Since I already signed it it has my info, just take that out if you want to sign). As of this moment there are almost 74,000 signers. Daily Kos has also raised over $40,000 for her potential campaign through Act Blue. (That link has my credit card so you'll have to go to and search LOL.)

Having lived in Texas during part of the Ann Richards years, I think it's time for another female Democratic governor there. And Wendy Davis seems to have the spark she'll need, and the drive!

If, as Kit says, Wendy Davis never imagined herself squarely in the sight of publicity.....I admire her even more! She stood up in her pink sneakers and spoke out for what is right!
