That statement by the police department may be the real crux of the problem. They seem oblivious that the police have done something wrong and speak only of the police being threatened by "crazy people" out there. Yes, people are angry and should be, the police do not have a license to kill.

I wish I didn't click on this. The owner was cuffed why? I never saw an animal shot before, and I never want to again. What ever the hell was going on in that house that took 6 patrol cars, had nothing to do with that man and dog.
For all the stupidity, irgorance involving police and dogs, I would like to see this town suffer a tremendous financial heartship.Maybe then, police will be better trained .

Cyber attacks and death threats are not a proper measure , but perhaps without this massive public outcry the officers were not even pulled from street duty. They need to be charged I , there's no excuse for shooting that dog and I can't see why Lt Swain speaks of "having to kill a dog".

About time something was done about them let's hope the book is thrown at them and they lose their jobs!! Police like them are not needed and shouldn't be on the streets!!!

Happy about them being pulled from the street . I wuld like to know if there will be any real punishment . Kit did make an excellent point and it sounds right to me. I almost feel like they were pulled from the street for just their own safety. Not because they did anything wrong. Still very happy they are not on the street to do it again as officers.....

So glad to hear the officers were pulled from the street. Sad to hear of no wrong doing admittance by said officers or their department.
To Alan Yorkowitz - Sorry to say, the police wouldn't suffer, but the people would.
To Arlene Morrison - If our police didn't have guns, they would just stun the dogs to death, or bea them with billy clubs.
It seems as thought we've hired and trained many aggressive people to be police officers. It doesn't mean that all of our officers are so viscious. We do have some very fine, trustworthy officers, it just seems they aren't in the news - they're busy doing the job the way it should be done! To them, Kudos!

How to say that now we should worry about those three assholes who killed Max? If now they are afraid I don't give a f**k! They think we're crazy because we ask justice for a dog? Frankly, I do much more scared of them, but what kind of people is the one that pulls out his gun and shoots at all? And then they are the ones who are supposed to 'protect and serve'?????
