Clutter; The word itself is enough to make you feel claustrophobic. Getting some breathing space by reducing clutter can not only help your well-being and peace of mind, but can also affect your efforts in green living.

It's so difficult to really get rid of clutter, it seems to grow on it's own.

Thank you! I donated to charities before moving and the quantity of toys and clothes from my sons was positively shocking. Fortunately, those things didn't end up in a landfill. (n, p, t)

Ironically, I am working with a couple who are for a better term "savers" People get to a point in their lives where they really need to step back, and take a look at what they have amassed over the decades.
This has become a psychological, emotional enterprise in "letting go" of the past.
Millions of people in this country are sadlly in the same boat.
In my case, progress is being made.

I have to defend clutter. I repurpose clothing. As a crafter into collage, assemblage and just plain old eccentric...tweaking conventional minimalist spartan decorating into a riot of color, texture and patterns. It helps to separate the sheep from the goats as far as anyone living with me. Not anal but more of a diarriaha of the free spirit. Shabby chic, Crafty Chica is my modis oparendi. "I'll find a use for it" actually happens. Would we have the Watts Towers if the artist had tossed the bits and pieces that eventually went into it?
I give everyone here permission to stop and shop at a yard sale this weekend! :) moo ha ha

At my shop, we have a lot (well, a lot for my small shop) of old computer monitors, key pads, mouse, and that sort of stuff but, there is absolutely no one willing to let us give it to them. I've called everywhere and no body wants this old junk! So, it just sits on shelves in a side of a mostly unused office. Maybe some day, I'll find someone that wants it!

As far as home husband has a lot of "stuff". I'm always after hm to "get rid of it" and my pleas seem to fall on deaf ears. But, I still love hin!

Hoarders are happy. Leave 'em alone. It's their money. Evelyn M. there are charities that collect electronic waste and make money from it. Check it out.

I can not stand clutter, it drives me crazy. What I do because I like to change things up on a frquent basis I will go through thre house take everything down will clean it and will pack away in a bin. I will replace these items with something that I already had packed away for a fresh change. It works it really does, out of site out of mind.

I despise clutter. I prefer (but don't always get...I live with a man) a Zen-like atmosphere.

Thanks Cher.

We had a lot of clutter in our old apartment, but got rid of so much stuff when we moved. It is so liberating to have open space! But it's a constant battle to keep clutter under control.
