Oh i can believe this, here The Landmark Foundation was not allowed to attend meetings when the western cape farmers were discussing how to dispose of predators such as Jackal and Leopard that attacked the sheep. The Landmark Foundation wanted a ban on gin traps and for the farmers to start using Anatolian dogs they had meetings but didnt let them attend so there was no opposition. and they get away with it!

THank you Cher for posting this.

I believe that in care2 we should editorialize, share our own thoughts on that which we value, and hope that we will look far more deeply into such occurrences as the directed denial of these scientists in particular from influence on decisionmaking.

Some few of us know the wolf to what extent we can.
That species is one of a sharp intelligence sculpted into a powerful social and uniquely perceptive being. The fact that each wolf is an obligate carnivore, with a valuable place ecologically in the vast flow of life on Earth is unconceived by those who fear.

You at care2 see its characteristics in your domestic dogs, understanding to some extent the emotional and practical basis of its capacities. You share what you know as love across a divide of species so great that it cannot be understood by those who do not experience it.

But here I want you to look at the corruption of humans in bureaucracy.
This corrupt act shows you plainly that those to whom many of you have given loyalty, have betrayed it in secret.
They NEVER shared your understanding, your love, your measured care for the Other, the Distant, the Strange (A wolf is more strange than you can imagine, yet you can know and share a little; I would try personally to have you accept some impulses of that tribe that almost all reject. But we cannot work on that here).
Your presence here has to do with your wish for a more widespread human understanding.
In order to do that, you yourself must understand that acquisition, wealth, safety, are mere fictions, and not to be prized above the actual, the individual.

The persons trusted who engaged in the corruption must be stripped of ALL power to affect the wild, the innocent, Nature, others.

I hope you will all intuit what I am getting at.

You have placed trust in elected officials and their appointees.
A wolf places his / her life in the trust of those with whom they bond, in a far more intimate and immediate way that that with which you are familiar.

Loyalty should be reciprocal, or what value does it have? Would unilateral loyalty merely be slavery?

Who are you? For what and to whom do you bond?

I am only a voice, of some minor being who bonded to the wolf long ago. I know why I am here, and that is to speak to you, hopefully so that you may look into your clearing minds - I hope you will live your moments like this sun burning through a morning fog.

End your loyalty to those who would betray you. Whether they be mere men or massive governments, your way is better, is stronger.
The wolf only knows this, and cannot understand betrayal.

If you like fiction, I just finished Picoult's novel "Lone Wolf". Aside from the human drama, the author gives a fascinating insight to the wolf.

It is not true that the petition is for US citizens only. I'm from Italy and could sign it. It would be wise to double-check before spreading false information.
